Attention bras, brohams, kahunas and anyone who takes the “board” in board shorts literally:
We’ve found what’s quite possibly the ultimate handmade surfboard.
Have a look at Weston Surfboards, retro-finished sticks shaped by an acolyte of the one-and-only Hap Jacobs.
Holderman — who started riding waves at age five, shaping boards at 13 and rode professionally for Hap — has been in the board game for many moons.
He’s honed a clean, flowing design made from dense polyester blanks with a standard wooden stringer.
Each board is coated in fiberglass and a polyester resin.
Translation: simple, classic planks painted in bold pantones sans gimmicks.
Just longboards, shortboards, swallow twins and fishes, each suitable for the seasoned hoarder or a quiver-building novice.
Every board is one-of-a-kind and tested by Holderman himself. Drop him a line or stop by Thalia Surf to pick one up.
Note: Holderman, an expert at shaping boards, isn’t much for shaping web sites. So check out our gallery of his work. And pass up those ankle breakers, son.
