Thanksgiving, with all its familial charms and tryptophanic lazing, often lacks the one thing that LA specializes in: sex appeal.
And for that, we suggest you attend the Orphan’s Thanksgiving: a T-Giving-only feast for hedonists, hoodlums and, well, anybody sans fam this year at the Petit Ermitage.
This Roman-esque chowdown transpires on the hotel’s private rooftop: a butterfly-flecked maze of kumquat trees, airy cabanas and stunning views of the Hollywood Hills and Downtown.
The dinner seats 80 diners at ornate tables set with free-range turkeys stuffed with leek and wild mushrooms, sweet potato and root vegetable gratin, and pumpkin pie (here’s the full menu).
After dinner, the tailfeather-shaking begins. And there’s the saltwater pool, heated to 90 degrees, for those looking for a second brine.
There will be plenty of cocktails mixed from fresh juices on hand. The whole shebang starts at 6 P.M. and goes until the Casa Noble Reposado gets the better of you.
Then it’s just a quick stumble down the pillowy hallways to your room. Because to attend this party, you must be a guest.
This isn’t the sort of thing you’d want to leave, anyway.
