From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in LA is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your three-step itinerary to a damn good time.
This week: biergartens and pasta. Here’s your plan.
Heel and Toe
Because you’re walking the historic streets of Old Town Pasadena, you’ll want some sturdy kicks. But don’t sacrifice style. Grab a pair of Danite Trench Boots, a recent collaboration between Oak Street and Gramercy York (available at the latter). Goodyear welt construction and Chromexcel leather — these bad boys will last a while.
Drinks
Romance, thy name is biergarten. The newly opened PICNIK, from the Corazon y Miel guys, is a fancy brew haven serving fancified suds like Pliny the Elder, plus a variety of gourmet links, lamb and leeks. Enjoy it all with pickled veggies and French-Vietnamese-style baguettes on the fire-lit patio.
Dinner
For dinner, walk a few blocks to UNION. This opened-yesterday bistro from Knife Fight winner Bruce Kalman is plating Northern Italian fare like spelt cavatelli and pesto di rucola with pecorino.
