From the driving, to the parking, to the not knowing where to drive or park, dinner in LA is harder than it should be. That’s why we created Dinner Plan — your three-step itinerary to a damn good time.
This week: sun, suds and kick-ass Mexican food. Here’s your plan.
Check In
Make this an overnighter. The ocean-facing rooms at the charming Beach House Hotel have patios. So bring your favorite hooch and watch the sun set on the Pacific. Dinner will be right down by the pier …
Dinner
Caddy-corner to the pier sits Dia de Campo, a new resto from the Little Sister/Abigaile guys that feels like a Baja playboy’s swanky manse. It has a quaint oyster bar, big leather couches and dark banquettes where you’ll enjoy heaps of bone-in carnitas dripping in duck fat, creamy guacamole, fire-roasted salsas and-ice cold Victorias.
Punk Drunk
After dinner, stumble a few blocks to The Abigaile, Chef Tin Vuong’s flagship. It’s an ode to punk rock with some of the best microbrewed beers in L.A. and a solid playlist piping down from the rafters. In these temps, the Southern Sunset — a hoppy ale — will suit you best. Order a house-made Snickers for your sugar fix.
