Most guys will tell you they’ve been meaning to take a fellas trip.
Y’know: a weekend of such debauched delights that afterward you all end up living in a one bedroom apartment near Luxbar sharing the same divorce lawyer.
Or at the very least get some good fishing in.
And for that, we recommend the Muskegon River Lodge, a private residence turned ultimate man chalet in Newaygo, Michigan, now taking reservations.
Just over a three-hour drive from the city, this white-pined lodge holds up to ten guests and comes complete with 12 acres of peaceful Michigan backwood.
Inside the lodge: a warm rustic space with a well-stocked humidor, pool table, poker table, 10-person conference room and cedar sauna and hot tub on the deck, along with gourmet meals by the on-site chef.
When ready to cast a line, take a guided fly-fishing tour or charter your own course. Expect big catches. This time of the year, the river swells with fall steelhead that tail the salmon migrating from Lake Michigan to spawn.
Plus trout. Lots of ’em.
If you don’t fish, we’re sure you’ll find something to do.
Perhaps nothing at all.
