Yes, online shopping may be caveman-can-do-it easy, but the only way to vouch for quality is in-person. Below, three one-of-a-kind holiday shops popping up just in time for gift-buying season.
Ministry of Supply at theWit
Until 12/31 – Downtown
Future classic clothiers Ministry of Supply have partnered with theWit for a temporary downtown retail space, where they’re pushing technical garments that look good nine-to-five and beyond. The water-resistant and four-way stretch Aviator Jacket makes for a stylish present.
Plus: choice coffee table books like The Outsiders: New Outdoor Creativity and great stocking stuffers like Harry’s shave sets.
Dose Market HoliDose
12/14 – Tickets here – West Loop
Dose Market’s holiday market lineup is bananas. We suggest getting there early for some Owen + Alchemy juice and a Pleasant House pie. Also: don’t forget to drop a romantic verse on the lady from Poems While You Wait.
As for gifts for the women in your life? Dose founder April Francis has you covered:
- A clutch from Sterling & Burke
- A windowsill planter from Modern Sprout
- Anything bling from Azeeza
You’re welcome.
GBH + Friends Holiday Pop-Up
12/13 – Free – Humboldt Park
Michael Kiser of Good Beer Hunting, which was named Best Food or Wine Blog by Saveur Magazine, hosts a one-day holiday pop-up shop at the GBH studio. Beers lovers can expect limited-edition goods from Solemn Oath, Gaslight Coffee Roasters and more. Kiser will be selling GBH merch as well, including new glassware and the Beer Peen Hammer, a handsome hybrid bottle opener and bronze pounder.
