Show us a bar in River North without a single flat-screen TV (i.e., no ESPN behind the bar broadcasting Tony Kornheiser’s Lobot-ic dome) and all one can ask for is serious food and drink.
That’s the promise at Bottlefork, the new joint from the Rockit Ranch team, now plating high-end American comforts on Clark.
This go ’round, Billy Dec and crew have teamed up with Allium and Seasons vet Kevin Hickey, whose colorful cocktail menu is reason enough to rendez with the crew once the five-o’clock whistle sounds.
Grab a booth, grab a drink.
When it comes to cocktails, take the Chi-Sconsin Old Fashioned for a spin: Luxardo Maraschino, sugar and orange muddled up with Bottlefork’s private cherry brandy label with Rhine Hall.
In the beer department: carouse over their exclusive rye amber ale with Begyle Brewing.
Entree highlights (view the menu) include the ground bacon burger and fried rabbit leg, but you can’t beat the shared plates: Braised beef cheek poutine. “Popcorn” sweetbreads smothered in pickled pepper aioli sauce. Tater tots topped with pimento cheese.
Gotta have your tots.
Keep the drinks coming, because you’ll want to order seconds.
Or just make it a quick pit stop. You’ve got the game to watch.
Nota bene: Located in the heart of River North, Bottlefork’s bound to get crowded. If you can’t make it early, we suggest you make a reservation.
