Instead of going with the traditional platinum to celebrate Vespa’s 70th anniversary, Piaggio & Co. went in another direction:
Steel.
On April 23rd, the iconic Italian scooter’s parent company released a commemorative line of “Vespa Settantesimo” Primaveras, GTSs and PXs. The limited-edition bikes will be available in blue or gray, each outfitted with custom graphics and Settantesimo “70” logos engraved on the seat and glovebox.
In addition to the special scooters, Vespa is celebrating its anniversary with a new exhibition at the Piaggio Museum that will run from April 22nd to June 4th.

“The Vespa is still a legend,” says Vespa design director Marco Lambri. “It represents the best of Italian design and the genius that allowed aeronautical technology to be applied to the creation of a scooter that has revolutionized our way of getting around.”
