Most people would have their dream garage if it featured a Bugatti Veyron or Lamborghini Aventador. Not to be outdone, the city of Dubai has these luxury sports cars and many more among its fleet of police cars. Complementing their routine police cruisers, these luxury models were included in the fleet to make the Dubai police feel more accessible to wealthy tourists. Contrary to popular belief, they are not used in pursuit of the other high-end sports cars that have become so commonplace in the United Arab Emirates.

“These police cars don’t see duty at traffic accidents or engage in high-speed pursuits,” said Dubai police lieutenant Saif Sultan Rashed Al Shasmi, who’s responsible for the division policing tourists. The exotic cars patrol areas highly trafficked by tourists to project a luxury image of the Dubai police, Al Shasmi said.

Here’s the list of luxury models you’ll find driven by the Dubai police force: Aston Martin One-77; Audi R8; Bentley Continental GT; BMW i8; BMW M6; Brabus Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG; Bugatti Veyron; Chevrolet Camaro; Ferrari FF; Ford Mustang (customized by Roush Performance); Lamborghini Aventador; Lexus RC F; McLaren Mp4-12C; Mercedes Benz SLS AMG; Nissan GT-R; and the Porsche Panamera S E-Hybrid. See them on display below.
