When then-unknown Rezvani Motors announced they were rolling out a turbocharged two-seat roadster with a 0-60 time of 2.7 seconds in 2014, we were understandably skeptical. In the years since, Ferris Rezvani and his crew have done everything they can to prove they’re legit, but they’re latest move, a military-inspired SUV, has us raising our eyebrows once again.
Billed as “the toughest extreme utility vehicle on the planet,” the Rezvani SUV will supposedly include customization options like a Kevlar gas tank and body panels as well as bulletproof glass, additions that will protect the passengers from attackers armed with assault rifles, Carscoops reported.
Designed by Samir Sadikhov, the four-door SUV has a tough front bumper, boxy roof and bulging front fenders, all of which combine to make the build look like a boxer that can take a punch. Other specifics are scarce, but Rezvani does say the five-seater will come with a body-on-frame chassis, four-wheel drive, an “extreme” off-road suspension and two engine options.
“From the beginning, we knew that we needed a tough, rugged, off-roader to compliment our core vision of high-performance sports cars,” Ferris Rezvani said in a release. “This is that vehicle, and then some.”
If you think the SUV is for real and have $1,000 to burn, the company is currently accepting fully refundable deposits.
