This Rebuilt Land Cruiser Redeems the ’80s

Off-road, on-road, whatever — just save us a seat

Certainly, there are a handful of ’80s rides that stood the test of time, but somehow we can’t seem to recall a single one after laying eyes on this 1981 Toyota Land Cruiser.

The geniuses over at The FJ Company have struck again, and 4×4 enthusiasts everywhere are sure to rejoice. Imported from Japan to Colombia for the Copperstate 1000, this FJ43 is as original as can be, with a few key updates to improve reliability, safety and comfort.

It’s painted in an Olive 637 from the original factory catalog and upholstered in brown leather. Baptized the “Copperstate Overland Edition,” after the off-roading event, the make went for $160,000 at the recent Pebble Beach auction. Not too shabby for an Gen-Xer.
