Polaris’ line of Slingshot SL LEs are basically the ice cream sundaes of the three-wheeled world: they’re indulgent, perfect on a hot day and tend to make mouths water.
Hence, the need for a cherry on top.
Or, should we say all over? The Minnesota-based automaker has expanded its lineup to include the Midnight Cherry Slingshot SL LE, a special edition model that packs the same power as the standard SL LE but wraps it up in dark cherry paint.
Blessed with a 2.4-liter engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission producing 173 horses, the open cockpit trike comes with standard features like electronic stability and traction control, waterproof seats, projector beam headlights, LED taillights and an LCD touchscreen.
With five inches of ground clearance, the Slingshot has 18-inch front wheels and a 20-inch rear wheel made of lightweight aluminum that are tuned to stick.
Priced at $27,000, the Midnight Cherry model costs $1,500 more than the standard SL LEs which, quite honestly, may or may not be worth it. That said, there’s only one way to find out.
