With great power comes great liability insurance

When it comes to bustling, beastly rides, there’s really no such thing as taking things too far. So when Lotus decided to pump up the volume with its new, limit-pushing, limited edition Evora GT430, we were delighted.

The supercar is packing 430 ponies courtesy of an overhauled 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine churning out 325 lb-ft of torque. It also features a featherweight titanium exhaust that should deftly handle the six-speed manual gearbox through the rear wheels.

Meanwhile, the exterior lines are smooth and menacing for added downforce at top speed — 190 MPH maxed out — and the front bumper is integrated with an evil-looking carbon fiber splitter. And the fierce carbon fiber wing in the back there? That would be Evora’s proverbial cape.

And to ensure the quality performance and handling that Lotus is known for, the Evora is saddled with a set of rebound and compression-adjusting Ohlins TTX dampers, each with tough Eibach springs.

The GT430’s interior looks track-ready with optional carbon Sparco bucket race seats and four-point safety harnesses. Also on the docket, Lotus’ personalization program lets buyers customize almost every spec of the ride from the polish to the upholstery … for a price.

“The Evora GT430 is a landmark car for Lotus,” says Lotus CEO Jean-Marc Gales. “Lightweight engineering and class-leading handling, paired with Lotus’ aerodynamic expertise, define the Evora GT430 as a legendary Lotus. It’s a truly beautiful car, meticulously finished in hand-crafted carbon, and employing the latest aerodynamics and lightweight materials.”

Only 60 makes are set to hit the market. Interested parties can currently pre-order in Europe with an American iteration coming this way in early 2018.

Expect to dish out around $146,000 out of the gates without customization.
