An intense round of “Anything You Can Do I Can Do Better” between Porsche’s regular engineers and the folks in the Stuttgart shop’s Exclusive division had an entertaining result: name calling.
Also, the most powerful 911 Turbo S model to date.
Producing 607 HP at 6750 RPM with a top track speed of 205 MPH and 0 to 60 time of 2.8 seconds, the vehicles in the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series have been cranked up to 11.
To construct the S Exclusive, Porsche’s in-house modifying unit chose lightweight carbon fiber that’d been hand-painted in golden yellow metallic and sanded multiple times to really make the top coat sparkle and the contours of the body — and rear wing — pop.
To balance that out, they used high-gloss black to coat the front air intakes as well as cover the twin tailpipes in the rear and also installed exposed carbon stripes on the hood, roof and truck. The gold and carbon theme continues in the interior, with some hand-stitched leather thrown in.
”It’s the rare things that put us under their spell,” Porsche says of the S Exclusive Series. “Because we may see them no more than once in our lifetime. Because they remove us from normality. Because they show us that the impossible is not a fact, but merely an opinion.”
They also show us that exclusivity has its price as Porsche is only planning to build 500 of the models and has set pricing at about $100,000 more than the standard Turbo S at $290,000.
If the limited-edition gold Porsche isn’t enough, a matching luggage set is also available.
