One, as Harry Nilsson taught us, is the loneliest number that you’ll ever do.
But as we’re learning courtesy of a one-of-one Lamborghini concept model that’s hitting the auction block next month in California, it also might be the sexiest.
Built with an open cockpit, aerodynamic bodywork and no windshield, the street-legal Concept S roadster is the first and last production-ready example of the car to see the light of day. First slated to be built in a limited run of 100 examples for favored customers, plans for the Concept S were scrapped due to the exceedingly high cost and amount of time required to build the model.
As such, there’s only one example of the one-off Lamborghini in existence — and as former Lamborghini S.p.A. president Stephan Winkelmann once said, the V-10-equipped two-seater “represents everything Lamborghini stands for … it is extreme, uncompromising, and Italian.”
After failing to fetch its reserve price at an earlier auction where it was expected to go for as much as $3 million, the Concept S will be up for sale once again via Sotheby’s next month.
With only 110 miles on its odometer, the one and only Concept S is almost sure to sell for a number that’ll include a minimum of six zeros this time around. For more info on this rare beauty, take a gander at the video below.
