In 2015, current Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari became the first opposition candidate in his country’s history to defeat an incumbent when he was elected following three defeats.
President Buhari’s win wouldn’t have been possible were it not for another triumph the year before, when his armored vehicle emerged victorious following a terrorist attack on his motorcade.
The company that designed his security vehicle — INKAS — has just unveiled a new one. And it’s a beast.
Built on the platform of a Toyota Land Cruiser, the Hudson Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 mated to a five-speed manual transmission that gives the fully armored eight-seater 202 HP and a high level of off-road performance and maneuverability.
Equipped with a central turret, gun ports, a pair of escape hatches and external view cameras that work in tandem with an electronic night vision system, the Hudson APC can withstand assaults from rifles, hand grenades and Sunday drivers.
Although the company says the Hudson has been designed with SWAT teams and border patrol agencies in mind, we’d wager they’d be willing to hook you up with one for the right price.
