If You’re Gonna Call Yourself ‘All Mountain,’ Better Bring Tank Tires

GMC did. And look where that got 'em.

The Flute Bowl at Whistler Blackcomb in Whistler, British Columbia is one of two incredibly raw backbowl runs available at the Canadian ski resort. At over 1,100 acres with nary a lift or gondola in sight, adventurers either need to hoof it or take a helicopter up the slope.

But then GMC stepped in with an idea — a solution if you will, by replacing all four tires on a GMC Sierra with 175 Series Mattracks — all-terrain tank-like tracks.

With over 2,000 meters upward to giddy up, building a truck that could withstand the climb was no easy feat. But thanks to monstrous 6.6L Duramax diesel engine with 910 pound feet of torque capable of generating an energy equivalent of 445 horses, we’d say getting up there was probably all the fun.

Don’t take our word for it. GMC has the drone footage to prove it. See above.
