It’s already spawned glam weddings, cyber sports arenas and a love-it-or-hate-it sequel.
The next frontier for TRON? Electric superbikes. Or, to be more specific, a line of electric wheels that will turn any old bike into an electric superbike.
The GeoOrbital is a motorized wheel that runs on a 36-volt removable battery and can be attached to almost any bike. The wheel’s 500-watt motor can propel a bike from 0-20 MPH in six seconds — and that’s without pedal assistance.
The wheel’s battery also has a built-in USB port for charging phones, tablets or powering a Bluetooth speaker, its tires are made from high-density foam so as to prevent it from going flat, and the whole thing is controlled via a handlebar-mounted throttle.
A Kickstarter campaign to fund the GeoOrbital has already surpassed its $75k goal more than 10 times over, but there is still a chance to get the $950 MSRP wheel for $700 (or less, if you buy in bulk).
Don’t forget your helmet.
