Expected to be available by 2019, the $750,000 Genovation Extreme Electric won’t come cheap.
But given the unpredictable nature of future gas prices, it’s possible the all-electric GXE could end up paying for itself … in about 100 years.
Designed by Maryland-based Genovation to be a production model of the modified Corvette Z06 the shop used to set the all-electric land speed record earlier this year, the new GXE will be a C7 Grand Sport outfitted with a 44kWh battery pack and electric motors boasting 660 thoroughbreds.
The car can do 130 miles on a single charge, and all indications are that it will be able to equal, if not surpass, the first-generation GXE’s record-breaking top speed, according to Electrek.
Genovation will be producing 75 of the GXE models and will customize each to fit a buyer’s individual needs. Getting the ball rolling on the two-year customization process requires a $250,000 deposit and the company anticipates the build will take an additional year.
