Let’s say you’re doing 80 mph down the highway, you’re cranking “Layla,” and every time you whizz past another car, the driver gives you the thumb’s up. The reason? Because you’re driving a 1991 Ferrari F40 once owned by guitar god Eric Clapton, and you look like a badass doing it.
As luck would have it, this dream can be yours—for a price, of course. Luxury auto seller GVE London has put this exact make and model (with the Clapton provenance to boot) on the market for $1.2 million. With under 7,000 miles on the speedometer and all its original tools/service books, the car was owned by Clapton from 2000-03—during the time he recorded the aptly titled One More Car, One More Driver (2002).
Says GVE founder and managing director David Rai of the car:
“The F40 is a real poster car, and one of the most celebrated supercars of the 80s. A modern classic that turns heads everywhere it goes, and it definitely gets a lot of attention here in the showroom. The fact it was once owned by Eric Clapton is the cherry on top!”
Having been owned by a string of Ferrari enthusiasts before Clapton, the car is in near-perfect shape and has been cared for well.
