Motorcycles are cool, no doubt. But the vast majority are loud, dangerous and go through gas like it’s going out of style, which, coincidentally, it is, due to the warming of the planet and whatnot.
The all-electric EV3 iTank is here to help. It addresses the safety issues with three-wheel design. And the noise? Not an issue.
The iTank from Doohan — which is powered by a lithium-ion battery pack that gives it a range of about 62 miles — has side-deflecting dual front wheels that let the bike tilt, gripping road surfaces on tight turns without toppling over or causing its rider to lose control.
In addition to being blessed with 17 patents, Doohan’s dual-wheel system impresses with an aviation-level wrought aluminium front suspension that’s complemented by a solid steel frame.
The bike’s rear wheel is hooked up to a Bosch electric motor that can boost it to 28 MPH in 4.6 seconds. An accompanying smartphone app provides riders with an extra degree of control.
Doohan just launched a Kickstarter campaign for the $3,999 bike, and deliveries are slated to begin in October if the company is able to hit its funding goals in a timely manner.
