A Pimped-Out Custom Land Rover of One’s Own

If you build it, they will drool

Remember those SUVs on steroids we told you about?

Here’s your chance to get behind the wheel.

East Coast Defender (ECD), the team responsible for some of the best and most badass makes on the market, is building five custom vehicles for eager customers. First comes first. Project Beast, as they’re calling the idea, is by application only and will set you back approxmately $225,000.

Which is like nothing, when you think about it. It’s only money. And think of it. Should you qualify, you’ll be tooling around in a bespoke Land Rover  with a 6.2L V8 LS3 motor, cranking out 430 HP; a 6-speed transmission; high-performance axels, a vented big brake kit, LED performance lights, luxe leather-trimmed interior, an top-shelf sound system, an infotainment system, a full external roll cage, performance exhaust and murdered-out black alloy wheels.

The ECD team is accepting applications now through September 9, 2016. Not just any old schmoe with a checkbook will qualify, either. They’re looking for individuals with a “unique and distinct love for cars.”

So here’s a question for ECD: would, say, an automotive writer for a certain phenomenal men’s lifestyle publication fit the bill? Asking for a friend.
