Aston Martin has released images and details of their upcoming $3 million Valkyrie hypercar and, from the looks of it, this will be a street legal version of a Formula One race car.
The interior seats adopt the reclined driving position used in Formula One and LeMans race cars and will be 3D-scanned to follow the contour of the owner’s body for ultimate comfort. The detachable steering wheel gives the driver the ability to switch between left and right driving sides which serves as an additional security device. Shift controls and an OLED screen were also designed into the steering wheel to keep the driver’s hands in one place.
The exterior was not only designed for style but also performance. Rear view mirrors have been replaced with two rear-facing cameras mounted in the cockpit to cut down on drag and unnecessary weight. The undercarriage features a huge Venturi tunnel that helps draw a large amount of air beneath the car to create high levels of downforce.
