Can’t say we saw this one coming.
Last week, we reported on the new 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series, touted then as the most powerful 911 Turbo in Porsche’s hallowed history, with an outpout of 607 horsepower and a top speed estimated at around 205 MPH.
While it’s not a Turbo, it took those crazy Germans less than a week to outdo themselves: with the unveiling of the street-legal 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS, at — not a car show — but at an Xbox conference for the preview of Forza Motorsport 7.
The GT2 RS is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six steed with a seven-speed PDK gearbox churning out 650 ponies, with some reports of of the car hitting up to 700 horsepower. Watch your back, Huracan. The ride has a stated sprint time under three seconds and tops out around 205 mph in around nine seconds. That’s video-game fast. That’s rearranging-your-pretty-face fast.
She’s expected to hit the market later this year. Little else is known, but the vitals here will certainly suffice for now.
