Kanye West Built the Ultimate Fleet of Trucks and SUVs. Now He’s Selling It.

Blacked-out Ford F-150 Raptors are just the start of the cavalry that tends to Kanye's Wyoming compound

You know that thing we said about not buying a car right now because the market is horrible for both new and used vehicles? That doesn’t apply to once-in-a-lifetime auctions, like the fleet of blacked-out Ford trucks and SUVs that Kanye West is unloading during his Wyoming exodus.

You may have heard that the 44-year-old rapper and designer is moving out of Cody, Wyoming, and back to California, recently listing his 4,000-acre property there for $11 million. But acreage is not all Kanye is selling: six Ford vehicles from his well-stocked garage are currently up for auction courtesy of Musser Bros., an auction house founded just outside Cody that now operates in four states, as TMZ originally reported.

The pickups and SUVs are consigned by a local dealership, Fremont Motor Company. Last month, The New York Times reported that West “sold his fleet of Ford Raptor trucks” back to the dealer, which seems to solve their earlier question of how many he bought in the first place, which was posed in a February 2020 feature when the paper tried to understand why the enigma had decamped to a town no one east of the Mississippi had ever heard of. And before you ask, no, this auction does not include any of the mysterious, giant-wheeled Sherp off-roaders that featured prominently in Kanye’s “Follow God” and “Closed On Sunday” music videos. Just legal road-going fare here.

Also, contrary to the aforementioned reporting, these aren’t all “Raptors.” Below, we’ve got the details on all six vehicles, which at the time of writing run from under 60 bids to over 110 each, and whose bid prices range from under $27,000 to over $54,000. A couple other notes for those interested in bidding: yes, you can bid online, though it’s your responsibility to arrange for pickup of the vehicle, and the auctions end on November 23. In other words, expect these prices to climb significantly higher in the coming weeks.

2016 Ford F-350 SRW 4×4 Lariat Crew Cab

Mileage: 79,296

The oldest vehicle on offer, this 2016 Ford truck is also the heavy-duty king of the bunch. A Super Duty model like the F-250 below, this F-350 sports the Lariat trim and a Crew Cab configuration (four doors, two rows of seats with six seats total). Like all the other vehicles here, there are a number of upgrades, including the matte black wrap scheme (which Fremont Motors is offering to remove from any of these for $250, which you should absolutely not do), as well as a front bumper from CK Fab, Lund fuel tank in the bed with a 12V pump, and Yokohama Geolander M/T G003 off-road tires.

Mileage: 80,848

A lot is the same here as in the F-350 above: Super Duty classification, same 6.2L V8 engine, same beefy tires, same fuel tank in the bed (well, probably the same, it’s hard to tell from the photos and notes). But there a few key differences, notably the slightly more manageable F-250 size (though this is still most certainly a work truck) and infinitely more menacing look, especially up front (here we’ve got Ford’s XLT trim). Though when you black out everything, including the automaker’s logo, you could make just about anything look menacing.

Mileage: 32,913

As promised, there are two Raptors available in this auction. For those not in the know, the Raptor is a high-performance, off-road version of the F-150, and here we’re talking about the second generation of the line (a third generation was unveiled in early 2021). Even though it is high-performance, you don’t get a V8 in this; instead it packs Ford’s 3.5L V6 EcoBoost engine. There are also Yokohama Geolander tires here, but the X-AT model instead, wheels from Method, a CK Fab front bumper, four full doors and seating for five.

Mileage: 35,243

This seems similar to the Raptor above, from the SuperCrew style to the engine to the mileage to the paint job, but open it up and you’ll see one major aesthetic difference: Velocity Blue paint around the doors that hasn’t been covered up by the new matte black look. There are also Geolander M/T G003 tires on here like the Super Duty trucks.

2020 Ford Expedition XLT Max 4×4

Mileage: 2,805

The lowest mileage vehicle available, as well as the newest along with the second SUV below, this 2020 Expedition is also a giant. Due to its Max design, it is almost a foot longer than the standard 2020 Expedition and thus can carry more lots more gear, though it’s configured here for seven passengers instead of eight. Some notable features include the panoramic roof, and both an off-road and heavy duty trailer tow package.

Mileage: 6,675

While the rest of the vehicles here have been wrapped in matte black to make Kanye’s beautiful dark automotive fantasy come to life, this Expedition was already beautiful, dark and twisted from the outset thanks to the Stealth package. Available on the Limited trim, the Stealth option included features like the 22-inch black-painted aluminum wheels, five-bar grille, power-deployable running boards and red-interior stitching, among other things.
