Now, there’s no shortage of hotel openings in the coming months, thanks in part to two years of pandemic delays, so you’ve got plenty of choices. Whether your dream vacation includes sipping wine in California, sitting on a beach in the Caribbean or strolling through a European capital, we’ve got you covered.

And if you think you’ve seen all New York City has to offer, think again.

Casa Polanco, Mexico City

The food, the art and the culture. Those are the three reasons most people visit Mexico City. Here’s a fourth: Casa Polanco. Poised to become one of the city’s go-to boutique hotels when it opens in June after a meticulous four-year restoration, the design-forward Casa Polanco will offer just 19 suites and a prime central location. Originally a private residence built in the 1940s, the current owners set out to create a guest experience that feels like staying in the home of a friend (but with 5-star service). Oh, and this friend also has exquisite taste. Throughout the suites and common spaces, like the interior courtyard and park-facing library, you’ll find objects from Mexican bazaars alongside artwork and custom furniture from Mexico City-based artisans.

Stanly Ranch, Napa Valley

Built on a 700-acre ranch with a 100-year history in southern Napa Valley, the brand new Stanly Ranch is bound to become a classic. Opening on April 29, this will be the third area offering from Auberge Resorts Collection, who already lay claim to two of wine country’s favorite hotels, Auberge du Soleil and Solage. Stanly Ranch will continue the tradition of setting the bar extremely high with its 78 freestanding cottages, which feature amazing vineyard views, outdoor showers and private terraces with fire pits. But expect to be enticed from these comfortable digs by the robust spa, wellness and fitness programing. Try a weekend HIIT class, then recover with a trip to the hyperbaric oxygen chamber and cold plunge. Bottom line: expect way more than your run-of-the-mill massage at this top-of-the-line ranch.

Aman New York, NYC

Aman takes its name from the Sanskrit-derived word for “peace,” which is something New York City could certainly use more of. The remedy: Aman New York. After originally planning to open this outpost in late 2020, the renowned, ultra-luxe hotel brand, known for its serene, wellness-centered resorts, will finally debut its highly anticipated NYC offering in late spring. But Aman, which leaves no detail unperfected, has made sure the wait will be worth it. The hotel will offer 83 rooms and suites, 22 private residences, a 7,000-square-foot terrace for outdoor lounging and dining, a 25,000-square-foot spa complete with a 65-foot indoor pool, and multiple entertainment venues including restaurants and an underground jazz bar. Thanks to its privileged location on the corner of 57th Street and 5th Avenue in the Crown Building, it’s mere steps from Central Park. It’s all but guaranteed to become the preeminent 5-star hotel in the city.

Rock House, Turks & Caicos

Everyone wants to go to Turks & Caicos, and everyone has good reason to. Few destinations can rival the turquoise water and baby-powder beaches found here. There are also some fantastic and well-established luxury hotels, but let’s focus on the newest entrant into Turks’s high-end hotel field: Rock House. Opening in May on a sleepy stretch of Grace Bay on Providenciales, and set atop a stout cliff of oceanfront limestone, Rock House is more reminiscent of hotels found along the Mediterranean coast of Italy or Greece than the Caribbean. Its 46 rooms, ranging from studios to villas with private pools, were designed by AD100 interior designer Shawn Henderson and come with ocean views. Outside, you’ll find Turks and Caicos’s largest infinity pool, multiple dining options, a small private beach and a jetty for easy pick up and drop off for boat-based excursions.

Gleneagles Townhouse, Edinburgh

Gleneagles, the legendary estate hotel in the quiet and calming Scottish countryside, is about to try its hand at city life. Opening in late spring in the heart of Edinburgh, Gleneagles Townhouse will be part hotel, part members club, and everything you’re looking for from a boutique hotel. Housed in a painstakingly restored building that was once home to the Bank of Scotland, the property will feature 33 individually designed bedrooms, a modern brasserie-style restaurant and bar, and a rooftop terrace with sweeping city views. There’ll also be an impressive wellness program and spa, with offerings like a cryotherapy chamber and infrared sauna, housed in the vaults of the former bank. Plus, as a new member of The Leading Hotels of the World, it comes with a trusted stamp of approval.
