A lot’s changed since the March 16th shelter-in-place order first forced S.F. restaurants to make big adjustments on the fly

Now, many of the Bay Area’s best are offering pick-up and delivery through a ginormous variety of means, ranging from the “yeah, that makes sense” (Birdsong offering “Birdboxes” on Caviar) to “that is just a very creative way to deal with things” (the Lazy Bear’s Camp Commissary) to “my heart” (SingleThread working with local organizations in Sonoma to help provide 200 meals daily to families in need).

The world-class innovation of our dining scene is — like, uh, just about everything else — in jeopardy. Here’s how to support them while simultaneously eating better than you ever have before at home.

Atelier Crenn: Multicourse “Crenn Kits” — with soup, sliced brioche, and dessert from pastry chef Juan Contreras — are available with a new menu starting today, via Tock.

Manresa: Offering “family meals” daily, both meat and vegetarian. Look for the menus on Instagram, then order via Tock.

Quince: Closed, but the Market at sister property Verjus is open (Tuesday – Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.), and they’re selling Quince desserts along with wine, produce, meat and dry goods.

SingleThread

SingleThread: Offering creative daily menus for pick up — like yesterday’s “Homage to Chez Panisse” — as well as an option to cover the tab for meals for local families in need, a project conducted in partnership with Sonoma Family Meal and Corazon Healdsburg. Order either via Tock.

Acquerello: Offering gift cards at 20% off.

Commis: Closed, but sister property Hawker Fare is offering delivery, so go get some of that fried chicken.

Lazy Bear: The “Lazy Bear Camp Commissary” is open Thursday – Saturday, offering a lot of stuff (“breakfast, lunch, coffee, cocktails, wine and pantry items to-go,” including fermented butter.) Keep an eye on Insta for updates.

Aubergine: Offering “weekend to go” meals, both veg and non-veg; order today by 1 p.m. for pick-up over the weekend. Reserve here.

Birdsong: Offering a “Birdbox” (obviously you want the option with pie versus without) for pick-up at Birdsong, or get delivery via Caviar.

Farmhouse Inn: Check their Facebook for what’s on at the Farmstand (noon to 7 p.m., Thursday – Monday); recent menu items include the Farmhouse Burger and pork belly (plus wine at $40 a bottle).

Harbor House: Dinners-to-go available Friday – Monday; place your orders by 4 p.m. And if you’re in Elk, ask for delivery. Order via Tock.

Hashiri

Hashiri: If you were looking for wagyu bento boxes, head to Hashiri, offering limited but exuberant menu options Tuesday through Saturday, 11:30 – 7:00. Order by phone, details on Instagram.

Ju-Ni: Order your chirashi bowls and Japanese rice lager via Caviar.

Kin Khao: Closed, but sister property Nari is offering a pretty extensive pick-up menu along with occasional produce from farmer’s market.

Lord Stanley: Offering a daily-changing menu; look for what’s up on Instagram (today it’s Liberty Farms duck cassoulet); text or email to order.

Madcap: Offering curbside pick-up; check here for options — today it’s black cod in a teriyaki glaze with sushi rice and broccoli. Order by email.

Michael Mina: Available for delivery via DoorDash or Grubhub, with a 10% discount if you order by phone; details here.

Mourad: Closed, but sister restaurant Aziza is available for delivery through Caviar or DoorDash.

Nico: Gap Year at Nico is offering meal pick-up via Tock; for the menu, check the pop-up here

Rich Table: Closed, but sister restaurant RT Rotisserie (Nopa and Redwood City) are open for delivery and pick-up.

State Bird Provisions: Closed, but they just shared a recipe for chicken broth on Insta, which should count for something.

SPQR

SPQR: Offering an “Accarrino’s To Go” menu for pick-up with options like family-style fennel-rubbed chicken, broiled black cod and baked ziti (wine, too!) .

Sushi Yoshizumi: Offering pick-up sushi via a Shopify site (??), including tekka don and nigiri sushi.

Wako: Offering a chirashi bowl (plus sake, beer, tea, or Pellegrino) via DoorDash.
