They say the clothes make the man, but we all saw Bay to Breakers brazenly flounce by: some men are definitely not defined by their clothing.
No, it’s the man who makes the clothes. In this case, literally.
Introducing Northern Grade, a pop-up boutique of quality American duds run by the dudes who make them, open tomorrow.
Basically a one-day TED Conference of stylish, rugged labels, Northern Grade features wares from Black Sheep Postal, Cedar Cycling, Rancourt & Co. and dozens more in 111 Minna Gallery’s airy, 4,000-square-foot Financial District space.
Founded by the husband-and-wife duo behind Pierrepont Hicks (note: you want their ties), the pop-up includes everything from oxfords to workwear to pocket squares.
But this isn’t just another shopping trip. There’s also whiskey.
At Northern Grade, you’ll have the opportunity to meet and, yes, share a drink with the tradesmen who stitch your threads.
Best of all, you’ll see this stuff early, at the same time as the buyers for shops that’ll (eventually) carry them.
The event is one day only: Saturday, June 1st. However, there is an exclusive online preview sale starting today.
Because a sale makes the man happy.
