They say it’s about the journey, and not the destination.

Apparently they never saw these destinations.

Wanderlust is a coffee-table tome documenting 32 of the world’s best hikes. Edited by environmental journalist Robert Moor and professional hiker Cam Honan, the book is an intimate, breathtaking look at some of the most remote points on planet earth, as depicted by the photographers who were brave enough to hike to said points.

Given its heft, Wanderlust is no doubt a jumping-off point for avid adventurers — you wouldn’t want to travel with it. But as far as jumping-off points go, it’ll send you out on sure footing. Loaded with facts and historical tidbits, every hike in the book comes with a column of bullet points that explain where to start and stop, the best time to go, weather conditions, elevation, where to stay, what to bring and assorted tips for navigating with aplomb (afternoon showers, tide changes and the like).

And if the images don’t make good on the title, you need to check your pulse.
