James Turner loves two things: Porsches and Paul Smith. He’s the founder of a specialty Porsche garage Sports Purpose in Oxfordshire, England, where he and his team live and breathe cars. He conceived of this Paul Smith-stripe makeover for his 1965 Porsche 911, which aligns nicely with the ongoing celebration of the marque’s 70th birthday.
It’s not the first time luxury cars have dressed in Paul Smith: there’s at least one instance of a Rover makeover. But there’s something particularly delicious about candy colors over the sleek swoops of the 911. And the outfitting continues on the inside as well, with blue racing seats, a wooden gear shifter and more stripes throughout.
The car raced in the 2018 Le Mans Classic and will be at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend, July 13-15th.
