An abbreviated checklist for looking powerful and dapper:
Crisp dress shirt. Youthful, made-to-order suit. And a brand-new tie to pull it all together.
Luckily, we’ve got a place where you can check all those boxes in one fell swoop: the Tie Bar’s handsome new den of dressy menswear, now open in the Loop.
Situated on the ground level of the Kimpton Gray Hotel, the new outpost is the Tie Bar’s second Chicago brick-and-mortar. The location is a strategic one: with ties and suits smack dab in the middle of the Loop, The Tie Bar is catering to the business crowd, and its offerings follow … ahem, suit.
What that means is the label’s suiting program takes front and center stage. You may remember that The Tie Bar broadened its offerings last year to include made-to-measure two- and three-pieces, and now we’re finally seeing a dedicated space for that expansion.
Of course, the brand’s affordable range of ties, pocket squares and tie bars (plus shirts and socks) is also available for purchase.
And with an always-changing stock, it’s worth it to stop in and see what’s new — but here’s a head start. A few highlights:
- This two-colored dress shirt that sports a jaunty semi-spread collar
- Polka dot socks that don’t scream you’re trying too hard
- A new range of leather belts for matching with your shoes
- Pointed tip knit ties because you can never have enough of those
You’ll find endless more options online at The Tie Bar, but we suggest paying them a visit. The sooner you go, the sooner you’ll make good on that list.
