If you’re one of the lucky few who scored tickets to Yoyoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirrors at The Broad — quite possibly the world’s most Instagrammable art exhibit — congratulations.
If you’re not, you’ve got two ways to get in.
The first isn’t all that reassuring: wait in a long line and maybe you get in. The second will surely taste better.
It involves cocktails and light bites on the Otium patio and then a private tour of the six-room exhibit … after hours. That means you can take your time, soak it up and enjoy. Not to mention no bumping elbows with selfie takers and prattling teens. You’ll also be in the company of some of the museum’s resident experts should you want deeper insight into the work.
After you’ve enjoyed the art, it’s back to Otium, where Chef Tim Hollingsworth will plate dishes like wood-roasted octopus and yellow squash mole, all plated with a nod to Kusama’s polka-dotted fancy. There will be plenty of vino, too, to make it all a little more vivid.
At $600 a ticket, it’s not cheap, but nothing this special is. The first dinner is tonight, with three more to follow later this month. Seats are selling fast, but they’ve reserved several for InsideHook readers. You can claim yours here.
