Four Words: Most Powerful Jaguar Ever

The British have created a monster!

The F-Type SVR — the last car that Jaguar’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) cranked out — was  an aerodynamic supercar with a 200 MPH top speed and blazing 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds. These are the very specs that earned the car the title of the most powerful street-legal Jag ever made.

But like the car itself, the title went faster than it arrived.

More details are coming at the end of next month, but Jaguar’s SVO just announced the creation of the Collector’s Edition Jaguar XE SV Project 8, “the most powerful road legal Jaguar in history.”

Offering “supercar performance and dynamics in a sedan,” the 592-HP Project 8 has a five-liter supercharged V8 under the hood and is currently track testing at the Nürburgring Nordschle while wrapped in custom camouflage covering.

“The new XE SV Project 8 takes aerodynamics and performance engineering to another level,” said SVO managing director John Edwards. “It is conceived for enthusiasts and the most discerning collectors. The price for such an extreme performance sports car available in strictly limited numbers will reflect that.”

No word yet on pricing, but we do know production of the Project 8 will be limited to 300 handmade units.

More details will be released at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, but until then, you’ll have to just watch the video and wait with the rest of us.
