A few months ago, we surmised on which in-vitro electric sports car was most likely to challenge the throne that Elon Musk and Tesla have so cozily settled into.

Turns out we should’ve waited a few months.

Introducing the Elextra, an Italian-styled Swiss precision machine handbuilt in Stuttgart. Not-so-vaguely resembling a Lambo, the Elextra is capable of a dashing 0-62 mph in a blistering 2.3 seconds, with an electric drive range of nearly 400 miles per juice-up.

The Elextra will pack twin electric motors with an output controller that limits it to 680 horsepower. You know what that means? It means it could crank out more, but they won’t let it.

It’s sculptural and a little mean, but we could still see it being a family car — those four doors make for a nice sedan-meets-racer number. Though only for a few lucky families. Due to release in 2019 with no announced price, only 100 makes will see the light of day.
