Mexico’s 1,400-HP Supercar May Go Straight Through That Wall

Immovable object, meet 245 MPH of aluminum and rubber

Remember when you were young and your mind would conjure up the biggest, baddest monstrous beasts hiding under your bed or somewhere in your closet?

This is like that, but awesome. Still completely terrifying, but awesome.

Reaching into the farthest corners of our imaginations, new(ish) Mexican company Inferno is producing a very extreme ride. The hypercar has 1,400 horsepower and is capable of catapulting 0-62 mph in under 2.7 seconds. With a projected top speed of 245 mph and weighing in under 2,646 pounds, the Inferno is ready to lay waste to the likes of Koenigsegg and McLaren.

But that’s not even the best part. The Inferno is built with patented “Metal Foam,” which is basically stretchable metal: an alloy of zinc, aluminum and silver that cuts the weight while being hyperelastic. Armour strength meets Fiat weight.

Calendared to go into production later this year, the Inferno is shining a serious light on Mexican auto manufacturing. The first 11 are going to be first editions, and will likely to go for $2m+.
