To you, ’66 Land Rover 109 Series IIA Dormobile,
You’re a jerk. I like my job. I love my job, actually. But there you are so cool, so perfectly restored and so very up for auction just begging for an adventure.
Your 2.25-liter four-cylinder engine and 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive have me daydreaming about traversing the Tetons. Your stove and sleeping cots have me conjuring thoughts of fresh french-pressed coffee while watching the sunrise come up over Guanabara Bay.
Could I live up to the first owner’s repoitoire, a big game hunter that took you on a real African Safari? I don’t know. But you’ve got me imaginging writing my out of office message with a sentiment about how life should really be lived and an ironic shout-out to follow me on Instagram as I go off-the-grid.
So get the hell out of here you drop dead beautiful Dormobile. Someone buy this damn thing before I go falling in love with a stranger at Iguazu Falls and finding my true self in the Chihuahuan desert.
Love,
Shari Gab
