Alfa Romeo’s First Luxury SUV Is Now Available

Who said carbon-fiber racing seats aren't family-friendly?

Last year,  when Alfa Romeo announced they’d be releasing an SUV, there was much rejoicing.

This week we learned the Stelvio First Edition, a stripped-down version of the standard model (that still packs 280 ponies, mind you) was made available to customers … outside of the United States.

Note: the links automatically redirect to Alfa Romeo’s U.S. site which doesn’t have the First Edition. And as if that weren’t frustrating enough, while we do know a few mouthwatering details about the new model (turbocharged two-liter engine, eight-speed automatic gearbox, smart four-wheel drive system, 0-62 time of 5.7 seconds and 143 MPH top speed) we don’t know the price.

As Top Gear cheekily points out: “Brilliantly, Alfa has announced its vastly important new SUV is open for order without actually announcing how much it costs. That’s some proper Italian logic right there.”

Obviously they’re correct, but it’s still a problem that U.S. customers would like to have.
