When it comes to cars, the world isn’t opposed to a little camp.
Hell, the Wayne’s World flaming AMC Pacer sold for nearly $38k.
So what’s the deal with Sonny Crockett’s ‘86 Ferrari Testarossa? Because it’s for sale … again.
It first appeared on eBay in 2014, again in early 2015 and then went on to two Mecum auctions in Monterey in late 2015 and last January. Up for grabs for the fifth time in two years, the steed is now set to cross the block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction later this month.
And this is the stud car, fellas. From the third, fourth and fifth seasons, this exact make was one of two of the rides Ferrari let out to Universal Studios. It’s sporting a near-impeccable beige interior, a five-speed manual gearbox, a 12-cylinder freshly serviced engine and a mere 16,500 miles on the odometer. The Testarossa is expected to fetch between $1.5 and $1.75m. And no, ownership does not require wearing shoulder pads and sipping Colada Daquiri hybrids.
That’s up to you.
