Earlier this year, Maserati CTO Roberto Fedeli told fans not to hold their breath for the marque’s first electric, citing barriers to performance — namely, the weight of the batteries — as significant to deter the Italian automaker from jumping in the ring.
So just how long will the wait be?
If reports this week hold true, about four years.
While we’re still waiting on the arrival of the two-seat Alfieri concept to arrive (expected release: 2019), Maserati decided to hit us with some glorious news: an all-electric version of the Alfieri will follow in 2020.
Beyond the confirmed announcement, little else is known. But it’s something grand to look forward to, and we’ll take it.
