This is Estate of Play, a monthly rundown (with pictures!) of five of the most architecturally significant properties currently for sale in Los Angeles.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s Valley Hideaway
Studio City
Price: $2,395,000

It’s unclear why eternal bachelor DiCaprio bought this ranch house a few years ago. What we see is an idyllic estate for a small family, with four bedrooms, a pool and a quiet lawn.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s Estate
Beverly Hills
Price: $35,000,000

The Voice stars just listed their home after a recent split. With a vibrant lawn and beaming white walls, upkeep won’t come cheap. And the acoustic guitarwork on the video is pretty tight, natch.

Tobey Maguire’s Santa Monica Bungalow
Santa Monica
Price: $2,995,000

Another divorce situation: Tobey Maguire is selling his 1929 Spanish bungalow, which he updated to include a game room and studio.

Elvis Presley’s Estate
Beverly Hills
Price: $30,000,000

It’s not Graceland, but Elvis and Priscilla Presley kicked it at the top of Beverly Hills in this mid-century ranch house. The views of L.A. are pretty stunning from the historic perch.

Frank Sinatra’s Desert Hideaway, Villa Maggio
Palm Desert
Price: $3,900,000

We all know of Sinatra’s Twin Palms estate in Palm Springs, which you can now rent. But most of us don’t know about his desert mountain hideaway, Villa Maggio, which is up in the hills above Coachella. With three houses, 12 bedrooms, tennis courts, pools and 7.5 acres, $3.9M actually seems pretty reasonable.

The Old Hollywood Party House on Delfern Dr.
Holmby Hills
Price: $79,000,000

The Edie Goetz Estate at the top of Holmby Hills was the party house for Hollywood elite from the ’40s on up to the ’70s. It was designed in the Georgian Revival style by the same guy who did Greystone Manor, and its MET-level restoration is pretty spectacular. It includes 12 bedrooms in three separate houses, tennis courts, pools and lots of grass for lawn parties.

The Manor
Holmby Hills
Price: $200,000,000

Last but not least (by a long shot)? The Manor in Holmby Hills — which should not be confused with The Greystone Manor — is the most expensive piece of real estate in town, at $200M. The French style palace has 14 bedrooms and 27 bathrooms — which you’ll probably need, given the likelihood of getting lost in this place.
