If anything major has happened in the past 24 hours that might prompt you to take a road trip (perhaps even a permanent one), we found the vehicle to do it in.
Outfitted by Hellwig Suspension Products to show off the company’s 2,800-pound-capacity air springs at SEMA, the “Rule Breaker” is a Nissan Titan XD paired with a custom Lance camper.
Featuring work from a number of aftermarket shops, the one-off pickup has a 310-HP diesel engine and other upgrades like a rear sway bar, fender flares and a four-inch back exhaust.
The aluminum camper in the truck’s bed has enough space for a queen-size bed, dinette area, full kitchenette and bathroom. But even though it’s lightweight, the four-wheel-drive truck only gets 11 MPG on the highway.
Unfortunately, the total price for the five-ton build is in the range of $120,000 and Hellwig has no plans to build another (or sell off the original).
Still, there’s room for hope.
“Hellwig is planning to do a lot with the camper, including taking it to all of its off-road and overland show appearances next year,” Hellwig representative Jon Barrett told GearJunkie.
Guess it’s time to make a New Year’s resolution to perfect your hot-wiring skills*.
*Just kidding. Don’t steal cars. Or other stuff.
