As the old saying goes, one man’s trash is the centerpiece of another man’s bespoke motorbike.
That’s certainly the case with the Triumph Board Tracker motorcycle a New Zealand man who goes by T. White recently handbuilt around a Villiers Midget lawnmower engine from the ‘50s.
After buying the vintage motor on TradeMe (Kiwi eBay, basically), he cut a stainless steel cradle for it and then mounted the whole rig on the frame of a vintage single-speed Triumph bicycle.
Once the engine was in place, White linked it with a cylindrical Atco fuel tank and installed a set of wood laminate handlebars as well as a four-sprocket system to send power to the rear wheel. The finished Triumph Board Tracker is a one-off bike that looks like it was built from parts sourced at a turn-of-the-century junkyard, but runs like the best racers of today.
