On Thursday night, celebrities including Jimmy Kimmel, John Legend, Ray Liotta, Julia Roberts, Shia LaBeouf, Morgan Freeman and Henry Golding teamed up for a table read of the iconic ’80s hit Fast Times at Ridgemont High to raise money for COVID-19 relief, but it was Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston who stole the show.
Pitt and Aniston, as you may remember, were famously married, and in their first on-screen appearance together since their 2005 divorce, they tackled the roles of Brad (played in the movie by Judge Reinhold) and Linda (played by Phoebe Cates) — and yes, they did the pool scene.
Things got delightfully awkward as the pair recreated the scene in which Brad fantasizes about the red bikini-clad Linda and jerks off before being walked in on in the bathroom. Pitt and Aniston were good sports about it, and the reaction shots from all the other actors on the Zoom are pretty great as well.
The table read also included an extremely devoted LaBeouf as Jeff Spicoli, Sean Penn (who played Spicoli in the movie) as a delivery driver, Roberts as Brad’s younger sister Stacy, Golding as Mr. Vargas, Legend as Charles Jefferson and his little brother, Liotta as Mr. Hand, Matthew McConaughey as Mike Damone, Dane Cook as Mark Ratner, and Kimmel reading all the other parts. And of course, Freeman narrating.
As of Friday. morning, the event had raised more than $65,800.
