Okay, it’s a mega-mansion in N.Y. terms — this isn’t Dallas, after all. But this Greek Revival built in 1836, is beyond a city dweller’s dream, a five-story townhouse on one of the loveliest tree-lined streets in the West Village. Hell, there are so many terraces it might as well be New York’s equivalent to a wraparound porch.

When it comes to a two-bedroom penthouse in the ultra-handsome Beaux-Arts Cherokee building for this price, there’s bound to be something fishy, right? Yes and no. You’ll still be in for a corner unit with north, south and east exposure, not-too-shabby nine-foot high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows in the kitchen and an abundance of closet space … But it’s also a six-floor walk-up. Yep. Compared to the surrounding area’s $1,227,000+ median price, though, the Cherokee cherry-on-top is a real winner. Just don’t dally — this offer won’t last long.
