A picture’s worth a thousand words — or a $23 million USD drug bust ($31M in AUD).
Three Canadian women on vacation in Australia just attempted to smuggle the largest shipment of narcotics on a cruise ship or airliner in the country.
Two hundred pounds of cocaine were found by the Australian Federal Police on a cruise ship docked in Sydney. The culprits were André Tamine, Isabelle Legacé, and Melina Roberge.
The trio, all originally from Quebec, were passengers on the MS Sea Princess, which made several stops in North America, the Caribbean and South America on its two-month journey from England. Authorities are still figuring out how the three women are linked, and at what point the drugs got on the ship.
While the women are now facing up to a lifetime in prison, a look at their Instagram accounts suggests that they at least had some fun along the way.
