Aubrey Plaza is slated to host the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday night (Feb. 8), and to promote the awards show, she teamed up with Bill Murray for a promo poking fun at Robert Pattinson and Willem Dafoe in The Lighthouse.
At just 25 seconds, the spoof is short but sweet, and it sees Plaza sporting a handlebar mustache similar to Pattinson’s character’s, while a pipe-wielding Murray serves as a surrogate Dafoe. They both do their best “lighthouse-attendant-who-has-descended-into-madness” voice, and subtitles reveal their conversation about Plaza hosting the awards.
Pattinson may have a chance to discuss Plaza’s Lighthouse take in person this weekend. Despite being snubbed by the Oscars, he’s nominated for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead for his work in the movie.
Allison Janney, Beanie Feldstein, Bob Odenkirk, Carrie Brownstein, Don Cheadle, Giancarlo Esposito, Jon M. Chu, Kaitlyn Dever, Laura Dern, Margaret Qualley, Naomi Watts, Nicolas Cage, Noah Jupe, Olivia Wilde, Robert De Niro, Scarlett Johansson, St. Vincent, America Ferrera, Taylor Russell and Zazie Beetz are all slated to present at the Independent Spirit Awards this year. The ceremony will air at 5 p.m. EST on Feb. 8 on IFC.
