When Toyota announced that 2014 would be the last production year for Land Cruisers, a milestone for their longest-running nameplate, disheartened antennas everywhere were brought to half mast.
But, thankfully, due to the masterful work and dedication of Miami’s FJ Company, the icon will never die. “This was a car that overcame obstacles,” the company proclaimed in a press release. “Proudly making history with ground-breaking design, legendary capability and remarkable reliability. This was, and still is, the Toyota Land Cruiser. And our mission is to put more of them back on the road.”
The newest edition to FJ’s portfolio is this stunner 1967 model FJ45LV in Capri Blue and white. A real charmer, this make was previously the passion project of a Montana fella, who spent nearly ten years sourcing parts.
But when his health began to fail, he had to let go of the restoration project. The next collector then commissioned FJ Company to finish the job. And while at the time the vehicle was rust-laden and worn, the parts were all in original condition, the original restorer’s impressive collection of replacements were put to good use.
However, FJ rarely keeps a revamp around for long, and this job has already been sold to a buyer in Dubai. But you can still snag a peek at the resto on display at SEMA in November.
