When you think Lambo, you probably don’t think military-grade SUV.
But in the late ’80s/early ’90s, Lamborghini decided to send sports car tech to Gold’s Gym, and the beastly LM002 — or, as it’s known in gearhead parlance, the “Rambo Lambo” — was born.
One of the rarest makes the Italian marque has ever churned out, the Rambo numbered 301 units in total, and like most pre-Audi constructs, it nearly bankrupted the company.
This edition, which is currently taking offers at Washington rare car dealer Cats Exotics, is particularly cherry. It received an extensive five-year mechanical and cosmetic restoration totalling over $325k, making for a fairly hefty price tag of $440k. No bolt was left unshined, unturned.
Don’t let the looks fool you, though: this ride’s a big pain in the arse. Should you consider acquiring the hooptie, you best have a friendly mechanic handy; the parts are near impossible to find, and then there’s the gas-guzzling 76.6-gallon tank to consider.
That being said, if silly things like money, reality or the air we breathe weren’t an issue, we’d 100% jump in the driver’s seat.
It’s the ultimate beachmobile.
