The Greenest, Quickest, Most Enjoyable Way to Commute in 2016

It has wheels. But similarities to boring things end there.

In a world where 48-year-old Tony Hawk can do this, and 49-year-old Rodney Mullen can do this, that maxim about old dogs and new tricks seems a moot one.

So no matter your age, we’d like to implore you to take a test ride on what is unquestionably the best way to get around San Francisco in 2016.

It comes with four wheels, superior power and Bluetooth connectivity.

The only other input it needs? A rider.

It’s called a Boosted Board. It’s a skateboard, only more fun and infinitely more practical.

If you’re like us, you like to explore. Walking gets the job done. But it’s slow (or we’re slow, anyway). And tiring (after 20K steps or so, not that we’re counting).

But getting an Uber at the end of a long day is for wimps. And getting a bus to work? Or tackling the hike from BART to your office?  There’s a better way.

A Boosted board is just what it sounds like: a skateboard with a bit of added oomph courtesy of a battery-powered motor — with Bluetooth to record all the stats you need to become your fully quantified self.

And this upgrade on the sold-out debut from 2013 adds smoother-riding wheels, a swappable battery option and a water-resistant casing for the parts that don’t like getting wet.

Your range? Twelve-t0-14 miles on the larger battery. Or enough for a commute.

… If you want your commute to be the fastest, most enjoyable part of your day.
