The Black Crowes’ Chris and Rich Robinson will reunite next year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their Shake Your Money Maker album with a 46-date tour — their first live shows since 2013.
The tour will kick off on June 17, 2020 at Austin’s Austin360 Amphitheater and wrap up on Sept. 19 at the Forum in Los Angeles, but the band is also slated to play a show tonight (Nov. 11) at New York’s Bowery Ballroom to celebrate the tour announcement.
“I think this is pure. We went off into a lot of things. There’s no jamming,” Chris Robinson told Rolling Stone. “There’s no extraneous stuff. This is the purest Black Crowes that people first [heard] … I hope we reconnect with some people who lost their way with us because of all of our other shit we were doing.”
The bickering between the two brothers is the stuff of legend, but they insist they’re on good terms now. “No one is here to be a dick,” Rich Robinson told the publication. “We love this music. We’re musicians. We’re brothers. We love each other. We love this opportunity … Changing the context with Chris and I and all new people is a much healthier place for us.”
